How Full-Home Packing Works
For most homes, packing happens the day before or the morning of the move. Whether packing in Melrose, Milton, or Natick, our Greater Boston crew ensures nothing is overlooked. A studio or one-bedroom can be packed and moved in the same day. Larger homes (three bedrooms and up) typically need a dedicated packing day followed by a separate moving day.
The packing crew works room by room in a systematic order: starting with areas you use least (guest rooms, storage areas, decorative items) and finishing with daily-use areas (kitchen, bathrooms, bedroom essentials). This way, you can still live in your home during the packing process.
If you're combining packing with your move, we coordinate the packing and moving crews so there's no wasted time. The packing crew finishes, and the moving crew starts loading — or the same crew handles both if the job scope allows it.

Full-home packing is billed at $149 per hour per crew, plus the cost of packing materials used. Typical packing times:
Studio or 1-bedroom: 2-3 hours for packing. 2-bedroom apartment: 3-5 hours. 3-bedroom house: 5-8 hours. 4-5 bedroom house with basement and garage: 8-12+ hours, may require a full day or two packers.
Packing materials (boxes, paper, bubble wrap, tape, specialty boxes) are charged at cost based on actual usage. We provide an estimate of material costs during the quoting process so you can budget accurately.

Declutter before we arrive. The less there is to pack, the faster (and cheaper) the packing job. Donate, discard, or sell items you don't want to bring to the new place before the packers come.
Set aside items you'll pack yourself. Medications, important documents, jewelry, laptops, and valuables you want to transport personally should be separated before our crew starts packing.
Let us know about fragile or valuable items. Antiques, art, wine collections, and other high-value items may need specialty packing materials. Tell us about these items when you book so we bring the right supplies.
