Office & Commercial Packing in Boston, MA
Packing an office is nothing like packing a home. You're dealing with IT equipment, confidential files, shared workstations, and a business that needs to keep running until the last possible moment. Boston Best Rate Movers provides commercial packing services designed around your operations — including after-hours and weekend packing to minimize business disruption.

Why Choose Us?

Commercial Packing Built Around Your Business
Office packing requires coordination that residential packing doesn't. From Watertown to the Wellesley area and homes in West Roxbury to Weston, our Greater Boston packing specialists handle every item with care. Employees may need access to their desks and files until the evening before the move. Server rooms and IT infrastructure need specialized handling. Conference rooms, break rooms, and supply closets need systematic packing and labeling so everything can be reassembled at the new location without confusion.
Our commercial packing crews understand this. We create a packing plan that works around your operations: common areas and storage rooms can be packed during business hours, while individual workstations and active work areas are packed after close of business. IT equipment is packed last and unpacked first at the new location so your team can get back online quickly.
Every box is labeled with the employee name or department, destination location in the new office, and a brief contents description. This system ensures that when boxes arrive at the new space, they go directly to the right desk or area.

After-Hours and Weekend Packing
Most Boston offices can't afford to shut down for packing during business hours. We schedule commercial packing for evenings (after 5 or 6 PM) and weekends so your team can work normally right up to the move.
A typical office move packing timeline: pack storage rooms and low-traffic areas during business hours earlier in the week, pack individual workstations Friday evening or Saturday, move everything Saturday or Sunday, and have the new office operational Monday morning.
For larger offices, we phase the packing by floor or department over multiple evenings so the disruption is spread out rather than concentrated into one chaotic session.

Preparing Your Office for Packing
Assign a move coordinator. One person should be the point of contact between your team and our crew. They handle decisions about what goes, what stays, and where things belong at the new office.
Have employees clean their desks. Personal items, food, and trash should be removed before our packing crew arrives. Anything remaining on a desk will be packed.
Label the new office. Number or name every room, workstation, and area in the new space. This labeling system matches the box labels so everything goes to the right spot on move day.
Coordinate with IT. Your IT team should handle data backups, equipment disconnection, and network setup at the new location. Our crew handles the physical packing and transport of the hardware.

Packing Tips
How to Choose the Right Moving Box Sizes
Selecting the proper box size is essential for safe transport and efficient loading. Using incorrect box sizes can lead to structural failure, overloading, or inefficient stacking inside the truck.
Small Boxes (1.5 cu. ft.) – Heavy Items
Small cartons are ideal for dense items such as books, documents, canned goods, and small tools. Limiting weight per carton improves safety during lifting and prevents box collapse.
Medium Boxes (3.0 cu. ft.) – General Household Items
Medium cartons are commonly used for kitchenware, décor, small appliances, and miscellaneous household goods. They provide balanced capacity without becoming too heavy.
Large Boxes (5–6 cu. ft.) – Lightweight Bulk Items
Large cartons are best suited for bedding, pillows, clothing, and other lightweight but bulky belongings. These cartons should not be overloaded with dense items.
